PASTOR

About the role

Jacksons Gap Baptist Church, located near Lake Martin, is seeking a full-time or bi-vocational pastor. Candidates must be ordained, licensed ministers who agree with the Southern Baptist Convention and Message 2000. They must also meet the biblical qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1. The pastor may choose to live in the church-owned pastorium within the community.

Responsibilities

• Manage church affairs through planning, decision-making, delegating, and conflict resolution
• Conduct worship services, sermons, funerals, weddings, and other observances in accordance with church bylaws
• Lead the congregation toward the church’s vision and growth
• Encourage, nurture, support, and reconcile church members
• Provide counseling and crisis ministry
• Lead the congregation in observing church ordinances
• Preach the Gospel dynamically and clearly so that both lost and saved hear, understand, and respond

Church Activities

• Recently reestablished streaming services
• Continues children’s and bus ministry every Wednesday night
• Hosts annual Fall Festival and Vacation Bible School
