Union-represented position with wage progression:
- 80% at hire: $25.79/hour
- 90% after 6 months: $29.02/hour
- 100% after 1 year: $32.24/hour
Schedule
- Base shift: Friday–Tuesday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Willingness to work overtime, different days/shifts, extra days, and holidays as needed for coverage
About the role
As a Pasteurizer you will strictly adhere to all food-safety, quality-assurance, and GMP policies and procedures during processing. Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor/Manager, you will ensure all known pathogens are pasteurized and the product is homogenized. You will operate and maintain pasteurization units, homogenizers, batching equipment, and related machinery in a dairy-production environment.
Responsibilities
- Batch and pasteurize finished dairy goods following Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitor fats, total solids, allergens, cryoscopy, and other processing parameters; report any deficiencies.
- Complete all pre-operational, system start-up, and in-process monitoring activities per the HACCP Plan.
- Operate, adjust, and troubleshoot homogenizing and pasteurizing equipment to resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
- Follow the mix-batching schedule and ensure raw batching adheres to formulation and standards; batch sheets serve as the source for all formulations.
- Strictly adhere to food-safety, quality-assurance, and GMP policies during the pasteurizing process.
- Maintain compliance with manufacturers’ recommendations, internal food-safety requirements, and regulatory standards (GMP, PMO, OSHA, FDA).
- Conduct and document system verification and monitoring activities for the pasteurizer.
- Accurately prepare and maintain all area paperwork, legal charts, and documents.
- Maintain sanitation of equipment, including CIP/SIP and hand cleaning; ensure a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
- Support the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program by following food-safety and quality procedures, maintaining hygiene, and reporting concerns.
- Understand your role in the SQF System, complete required training, and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma; higher education or certification preferred.
- Three years of experience in a Pasteurizing role or similar position.
- Two years of experience in a manufacturing facility preferred.

Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to bend, extend, and lift 50–60 pounds.
Work Environment
- Varying degrees of temperature; contact with water or dairy liquids.
- Noise level up to 90 decibels (moderate to high).
- Wet/slippery work conditions.
