About the role
The Customer Service Agent will be responsible for checking in passengers for flights at the ticket counter and gates, verifying passenger documentation, assigning seats, providing gate information, checking baggage, and assisting passengers with their issues in the airport. This individual must adhere to Menzies Aviation uniform guidelines and codes of conduct.
Responsibilities
- Assist passengers with check-ins, verification, gate information, baggage claims, and any other passenger issues in the airport while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Host self-service kiosks and verify passengers’ documents prior to boarding aircraft.
- Interpret identification labels along with baggage and cargo routing tags.
- Ensure that all work areas (check-in, lobby, gate, baggage) are organized and functional.
- Make announcements, check baggage, and assign seats in the gate area.
- Alaska Airlines side shift: 11:00–12:00 and 14:30–15:00.
Requirements
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Computer skills required for using computer-based systems to perform primary job duties.
- Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English with excellent communication skills.
- Positive, can-do, upbeat personality; able to remain calm under pressure.
- Able to stand for long periods at the ticket counter and gate check-in areas.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be comfortable lifting/moving up to 70 lbs of cargo and baggage.
- Must pass an FBI background check and obtain a US Customs seal.
- Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Prior customer service experience is strongly preferred. Intermediate computer skills are required.
