Parts Shipping-Receiving Clerk

Responsibilities

  • Manage the scheduling of the inbound and outbound flow of parts, work in process.
  • Deliver parts when necessary in a timely and safe manner.
  • Effectively communicate with Service department to ensure the required parts are available for technicians.
  • Determine the proper method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and DOT regulations.
  • Contract with freight companies that can provide the best rates and service within our shipping requirements.
  • Ensure the accuracy of inbound parts, including the inspection of the material compared to the shipping paperwork (bills of lading, packing lists, parts transfer, etc.).
  • Accurately enter all production part receipts to the P.O.'s on the ADP System.
  • Accurately receive all MOR and miscellaneous shipments and process related paperwork.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Support the resolution of purchase order, packing slip, invoicing, inventory and bills of materials discrepancies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiates throughout the supply chain logistics process.
  • Follows all safety and security procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years' experience in shipping & receiving (Auto Dealership experience preferred).
  • Minimal Parts Counterperson experience a PLUS!
  • Highly professional and dependable.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Previous experience in a similar role a plus.
  • Delivery driver experience a PLUS!
  • Must have California driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customers and team members.
  • Must be self-motivated with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Friendly with high energy and the willingness to go above and beyond.
  • Able to safely operate motor vehicles in tight and small spaces.
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand and lift heavy objects as needed.
  • Able to drive both automotive and standard transmission vehicles.
  • Willing to multi-task.
  • Bilingual a PLUS!
