Duties And Responsibilities

  • Train parts department and warehouse staff
  • Organizes and oversees employees’ work and schedules
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy
  • Assist all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
  • Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information
  • Provide and high level of service to internal and external customers
  • Locate out-of-Stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders as needed
  • Follow up on Back ordered parts
  • Replenishes assigned inventory
  • Aids Outside Sales Representatives with their orders
  • Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders
  • Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and understand the fluctuating needs for various replacement parts
  • Ability to read work orders submitted by service department
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
  • Computer proficiency

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Five years of experience in automotive shop
  • One year of experience in parts counter sales, or an Associate’s degree and one year of experience in the industry
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade

Language Sills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers of employees of the organization

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations with only limited resources
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
  • The employee frequently is required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs
