Duties And Responsibilities
- Train parts department and warehouse staff
- Organizes and oversees employees’ work and schedules
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy
- Assist all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
- Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information
- Provide and high level of service to internal and external customers
- Locate out-of-Stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders as needed
- Follow up on Back ordered parts
- Replenishes assigned inventory
- Aids Outside Sales Representatives with their orders
- Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders
- Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization
- Other Duties as Assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills
- Ability to perform well under pressure and understand the fluctuating needs for various replacement parts
- Ability to read work orders submitted by service department
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Computer proficiency
Education And Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Five years of experience in automotive shop
- One year of experience in parts counter sales, or an Associate’s degree and one year of experience in the industry
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Computer proficiency
- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
Language Sills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers of employees of the organization
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations with only limited resources
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
- The employee frequently is required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs
