Parts Counterperson - Nissan Chattanooga EAST

About the role

As a Parts Counterperson at a Sonic Automotive family dealership, you’ll sell parts to retail customers over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone. Responsibilities

• Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion items, offer specials, and ensure exposure to the full product line.
• Pull purchases from stock; determine availability and submit emergency orders for out-of-stock parts if requested.
• Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
• Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
• Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pickup.
• Assist service technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs in process.
• Order parts not in stock after discussing needs with Shop Foremen.
• Issue credit for returned parts, verifying original invoices or invoice numbers; exceptions require approval from the Parts Manager or Business Manager.
• Replenish assigned inventory daily.
• Advise the Parts Manager when department areas are not in satisfactory condition.
• Stay current on new products and product updates.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in parts sales or an automotive dealership parts department.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Willing to undergo pre-employment compliance requirements: drug testing, background check, and MVR.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous dealership experience.

Schedule

• Full-time: Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 6 PM.
• Saturday rotation: 7 AM – 4 PM.
• Sundays off.
• Weekend availability required.

Pay

Salary range: $40,000 – $60,000 annually.
