Responsibilities
- Check with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter staff, or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate last-minute pick-ups or deliveries.
- Check with the body shop daily to determine immediate parts needs.
- Deliver parts to the body shop as needed and distribute to appropriate body technicians.
- Verify that invoices match purchase orders for each pick-up.
- Check payments received against invoices for each delivery.
- Maintain an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups.
- Request recipient’s signature on each delivery entry.
- Unload the truck each night and turn in all paperwork and undelivered parts.
- Perform basic truck maintenance, including filling the gas tank, checking oil, keeping the truck clean, and ensuring required inspections are performed.
- Advise the parts manager if the delivery truck needs major repairs or maintenance.
- Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.
- Assist the service department with managing the drop-off and pick-up of customers’ cars as needed.
- Help stock and post orders upon arrival to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report accidents to a manager or supervisor.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Authorized to work in the USA.
- Able to perform duties safely and pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and a valid driver’s license.
