Parts Counter Sales

Responsibilities
- Solicit parts business from assigned accounts and prospect new customers through phone and personal contact
- Receive incoming parts calls and assist customers at the front parts counter
- Communicate parts orders to Inventory Control and confirm stock vs. emergency status based on customer needs
- Confirm acceptable delivery dates for non-stock items before ordering
- Avoid special pricing requests without Parts Manager approval
- Cook up delivery and shipping instructions with the Warehouse Coordinator
- Follow up on orders to ensure customer satisfaction and proper fulfillment
- Cover sales efforts with Outside Sales Associates and travel as needed to provide backup support
- Update and maintain accurate customer records
- Attend required training seminars and meetings
- Act as a public relations liaison for the dealership
- Maintain a professional appearance and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Adhere to all health and safety policies to support Hunter’s culture of a safe work environment
Requirements
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Basic computer knowledge required
- Certificates & Licenses: ASE Certifications preferred, Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist Certification preferred, Valid Driver’s License required; must meet company insurability standards
- Physical Requirements: Regular walking and frequent standing; occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company insurability standards
