About the Role
To assist the parts supervisor in maintaining and coordinating inventories at all shop locations, including the distribution center, in a way that balances the cost of inventory on hand with the cost of downed equipment waiting on parts. To secure the lowest pricing available on the most adequate product.
Responsibilities
- Secure lowest pricing on parts and materials
- Negotiate contract pricing
- Place and purchase parts orders with vendors for outside shops
- Coordinate inventories in distribution center and outside shops
- Assist in setup of inventories for new locations
- Assist in coordinating annual inventory count at all locations
- Place non-stock parts orders
- Research pricing on specific orders
- Assist Warranty Administration
- Follow up and track orders for multiple locations
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- High School completion or equivalent
- Working knowledge of inventory control procedures
- Experience with Heavy Duty Equipment parts REQUIRED
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential for internal and external customers
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently
- Ability to react to change productively
- Excellent attendance
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- May require travel to regional terminals
- Weekend and night hours occasionally required
- Overtime may be required during peak periods
- Medium work; Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently
- Subject to both environmental conditions: activities occur inside and outside; outside work may be in extreme weather conditions
- Subject to standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, particularly for sustained periods of time
- Subject to noise: sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level
- Subject to hazards: includes proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, and exposure to chemicals
- Subject to atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dusts, mists, and gases that affect the respiratory system or skin
- Close visual acuity required for operating machines, motor vehicles, visual inspection, using measurement devices, and assembly or fabrication of parts
- Manual dexterity regularly required, including fingering, grasping, and typing; repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers
- Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others
Pay
Starting from USD $60,000.00/year
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 50-hour work week, start time between 6:30 AM - 7:30 AM
