Role Summary
The Participant Account Specialist will support the Midwestern region and report into the Regional Vice President. The Participant Account Specialist will represent Mutual of America in a sales and marketing capacity conducting group and individual meetings on-site at a Regional Office’s group client.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the rollout and enrollment of participants in newly established 401k and 403b plans through group and individual meetings
- Enhance the company’s relationship with the participants, while cross selling individual products during on-site group and individual employee meetings
- Actively network and prospect new participants to add to Mutual of America’s product suite
- Increase enrollment, contributions and obtaining transfers from current group plan participants
- Acts as a financial liaison with participants on all matters concerning individual products, including investment alternatives offered under the contract
- Collaborate and present with other colleagues to show and prove our service model to prospects who are on the verge of buying our group products
- Coordination of client service matters with local Regional Office service staff and any appropriate home office departments
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of sales experience or equivalent industry experience
- Experience in presenting in a group setting to a variety of size groups
- Individual sales experience and being comfortable with cold calling
- General business acumen with strong motivation and communication skills
- Active FINRA Series 6 and 63 or must obtain within the first 180 days of employment
- Active State Life and Health Insurance License (in all states covered) required or obtained within 180 days of employment
- Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- CRPS designation preferred after 5 years in sales related position
- Knowledge of products underwritten by the company (401k and 403b retirement plan)
