Part-time Year-Round Education Assistant

About the role

The Historic Sites of the Morris County Park Commission, located in Morristown, NJ, seek an Education Assistant for its Historic Speedwell, and Cooper Gristmill sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop, present, and evaluate educational programs at these sites for the benefit and enjoyment of a variety of audiences.
• Develop and implement a variety of programs related to the sites, including hands-on workshops for children and adults, site interpretation for the general public, and a variety of groups.
• Perform general office duties related to the position.

Requirements

• A graduate of a college of recognized standing with a major program of study in history, education, American studies, museum studies, or a related field.
• The ability to work a combination of days that will include weekends and weekdays throughout the season, and other dates as assigned during the off-season.
• Must be a resident of the State of New Jersey within 60 days after starting in the position.

The candidate should have the enthusiasm and energy to work with visitors of all ages.
