Part-Time Educational Assistant

Peace River School Division is seeking a highly motivated Part-Time (0.90 f.t.e.) Educational Assistant at E. E. Oliver Elementary School to provide targeted literacy and numeracy support to small groups of students in Grades 1-3. The position runs from August 27, 2026, to June 29, 2027. E. E. Oliver Elementary School serves students in kindergarten to grade 6 and is located in Fairview, 560 km northwest of Edmonton and 100 km north of Grande Prairie.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted literacy and numeracy support to small groups of students in Grades 1-3.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and district office Program Coordinators.
• Follow structured intervention plans and manage small groups effectively.

Requirements

• Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Experience working directly with young children (Grades 1-3 preferred).
• Experience and understanding of foundational literacy and numeracy concepts (e.g., phonics, phonological awareness, early number sense).
• Acceptable current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check (less than six months old at the time of application).

Pay

$22.59 to $28.02 per hour, dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division.
