Part-Time Weekend Staff - Admissions (Fitchburg, MA)

About the role

Zero Gravity Basketball is the largest basketball tournament operator on the East Coast, operating in 26 states and producing over 175 events per year. As part of the 3 Step Sports LLC team, we host over 1,000 events annually, offering consistent part-time work for energetic, sports-minded individuals in the role of Weekend Event Staff – Admissions.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers as they enter the building with a smile
• Sell wristbands to customers to enter events
• Attach wristbands to customers
• Answer basic questions about the facility (e.g., court numbers, bathroom location)
• Ensure nobody enters events without a wristband
• Check in coaches and attach wristbands to them
• Sell Zero Gravity retail items
• Enter all transactions into our POS system
• Follow proper cash handling processes
• Assist in event operations such as setup and breakdown
• Perform any other tasks requested by the Site Director during the tournament

Qualifications

• Strong desire to work in sports
• Friendly and customer service-oriented (relevant experience preferred)
• Ability and willingness to work prolonged periods, including weekends
• Strong communication skills and willingness to engage with spectators and coaches
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel up to an hour for an event
• Ability to properly handle cash and enter transactions into a POS (relevant experience preferred)
• Reliable, responsible, and driven to positively impact tournament success
• Positive attitude with a desire to represent our brand well through on-site interactions
• Confident, with the ability to stand your ground when interacting with spectators and coaches
• Friendly and approachable, with a desire to help everyone at the event have the best experience
