Part-Time Weekend Producer

About the role

The News Producer produces daily newscast items, decides the order in which stories will be told, writes teases and other content, times news programs, edits video, and posts video to the website. Writes & produces news stories for weekend newscasts – serves as a control room producer during live and prerecorded newscasts. Fills in on other newscasts as needed.

Requirements

• Superb writing and communication skills
• Flexible to work different shifts as needed
• Exercise discretion, best judgment, and have solid journalistic/ethical skills
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
• Meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Flexibility to work any shift
