Part-Time Virtual Care Veterinary Technician - Teletriage
About the role
At Modern Animal, we're building the future of veterinary care, and we're seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician (Veterinary Nurse) to join our Virtual Care team. Available schedules include part-time teletriage on Sundays and Mondays from 11am-7pm PST.
Responsibilities
- Engage with members via chat, phone, and video, providing support and education on their pets' health and well-being
- Triage cases based on veterinary knowledge, offering recommendations and ensuring accurate information
- Review medical records to understand patient history and provide informed guidance
- Document clearly and accurately in patient records using veterinary terminology
- Verify and process prescriptions, ensuring appropriate follow-up for client requests
- Deliver top-tier client care with empathy and warmth, whether over chat, phone, or video
- Follow protocols, maintaining consistency while adjusting to each unique case
- Collaborate cross-functionally, providing feedback to improve processes and systems
- Thrive in a fast-paced, continuously learning environment, improving your skills and delivering excellent care
Qualifications
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (VTNE)
- At least two years of experience in small animal veterinary medicine (emergency and specialty experience is a plus but not required)
- Passionate about veterinary care and providing excellent client experiences
- Exceptional communicator with a clear ability to articulate medical information, both verbally and in writing, with compassion and clarity
- Adaptable problem solver capable of generating innovative solutions to support our members and teams
- Independent worker with the ability to manage priorities and tasks effectively with minimal supervision
- Continuous learner with a curiosity-driven mindset and eagerness to grow professionally to improve patient care
- Dedicated to a quiet, distraction-free work environment

Pay
The pay range for this position is listed below; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and equity grant units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the California Pay Transparency Act. Base pay information is based on geographic location. Hourly Range $23—$26 USD
