Part Time Upper School Spanish Teacher

About the role

Carolina Friends School (CFS) seeks a part-time Upper School Spanish Teacher to join their staff for the Fall of 2026. The teacher will join an Upper School team committed to continually developing a rigorous, student-centered, and mission-driven curriculum. CFS offers teachers an opportunity to engage with students in and out of the classroom, and utilizes a narrative-based approach to student evaluation instead of letter or number grades.

Responsibilities

• Teach Spanish language and culture to Upper School students
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with CFS's mission
• Engage with students both inside and outside of the classroom
• Evaluate students using a narrative-based approach

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Spanish or related field
• At least two years of teaching experience at the secondary level
• Experience with narrative-based student evaluation

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team

Skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English
• Knowledge of narrative-based assessment methods
• Experience with technology integration in the classroom
