About the role
Instruct, inform, and evaluate students on the operation of commercial motor vehicles, including Class A, B, and C with various endorsements, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
Responsibilities include leading lectures and discussions, demonstrating various scenarios, monitoring student performance, assessing performance, performing minor maintenance on trucks and trailers, recruiting staff, and assisting in planning and setting up special training classes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred
- Three years of professional truck driving experience
- Clean driving record
- Current DOT physical
- Current Class A CDL license (must maintain during employment)
- Adherence to all requirements of holding a CDL license
- Willingness to learn to operate and teach with simulation equipment
Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Exceptional human relation skills
- Comfort in speaking in front of a class
- Knowledge of operating computers
- Performance test required
