Work under minimum supervision to ensure the efficient operation of the Testing Center office and provide clerical services. Handle confidential information and engage in frequent contact with a diverse student population.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the proctoring of most standardized exams
- Proctor exams, answer phones, and schedule testing appointments
- Disseminate testing information to students, faculty, staff, and potential students
- Assist with other office duties as necessary
- Flexible availability to report to either Kilgore or Longview campus as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Ability to work in a cordial, professional manner with diverse population groups
- Sensitivity to ensure student privacy and test security
- Knowledge and previous experience with computers and data entry
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
- Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk
- Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
- Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
- Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
- Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
Safety
- Provide resources for safe operation of units
- Create and support workplace safety
Pay
The rate of pay is up to $10-$12 per hour depending on experience for up to 19 hours per week.

All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some part-time positions may be offsite, but the candidate must live in the State of Texas.
