About the role
The role of Teller at Santander involves engaging with customers to assist with various financial needs and processing transactions. This position requires exceptional customer service, risk identification, and the ability to escalate complex issues.
Responsibilities
- Welcoming customers and minimizing wait times
- Processing deposits, withdrawals, and transfers
- Maintaining accurate cash drawer balances
- Adhering to bank policies and procedures
- Identifying and escalating concerns of risk to appropriate channels
- Referring product solutions and cross-selling bank products
- Leveraging digital tools to educate customers on self-service options
- Assisting with custodianship, audits, and other operational tasks
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Serving nearby branch locations as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 6+ months of cash handling experience
- 6+ months of demonstrated customer service experience
- Excellent customer service skills and a passion for helping others
- Ability to identify and escalate concerns of risk to appropriate channels
- Ability to follow directions, policies, and procedures
- Effective listening and communication skills
- Comfortable using digital tools and technology to enhance customer engagement
- Energetic, organized, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail
- Computer proficiency and basic math skills
- Ability to work branch hours, which can include weekends and evenings
What You Bring
- Established work history or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education
- Preferred experience in Microsoft Office products
Pay
The base pay range for this position is $30,000.00 USD to $47,000.00 USD annually.
