About the Role

A dynamic, member-focused position that blends world-class service with sales of First Community Credit Union products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Model a high-energy, service-and-sales culture that continually improves member experience.
  • Perform accurate financial transactions: cash checks, process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments.
  • Offer credit-union products and services tailored to each member’s needs.
  • Provide administrative support under the supervision of the Head Teller or management team.
  • Uphold and promote a strong sales culture within the credit union.
  • Greet members warmly, answer account questions, and assist with special requests (e.g., account history review, mobile banking setup).
  • Count currency, balance cash drawers throughout the day and at shift end.
  • Process coin transactions accurately at any branch with a coin machine/counter.
  • Investigate and resolve cash variances promptly in partnership with the Teller Supervisor or Branch Manager.
  • Process and collect fees associated with Over Draft Privilege.
  • Complete required compliance documentation.
  • Answer phones and route calls to appropriate staff.
  • Make outbound calls to other departments or members.
  • Apply FCCU’s Check Hold Policy and Procedures.
  • Assist with mailings as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Foster positive working relationships with members and staff.
  • Distribute promotional items (flyers, buck slips) to support credit-union events or campaigns.
  • Attend credit-union functions as requested.
  • Comply with all state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Suggest improvements for current processes, products, or services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/G.E.D. or participation in a work-study program.
  • Previous cash-handling experience is beneficial.

  • Flexibility to work Monday–Friday, weekends, and extended hours as needed.
  • Compliance with government regulations affecting the credit-union industry, including the Bank Secrecy Act and the USA Patriot Act.
