About the role
This position is located at the Campus View Child Care Center. It serves as a strong supportive role on a team, observing and supervising children and their activities visually, ensuring the general safety and well-being of all children, and communicating openly and respectfully with children, parents, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a strong supportive role on a team.
- Observes and supervises children and their activities visually.
- Ensures the general safety and well-being of all children.
- Communicates openly and respectfully with children, parents, and staff.
- Helps support children as they work to develop physical and communication skills.
- Maintains work area along with all staff members who share in the housekeeping and cleaning duties.
- Works very closely with a team of lead teachers and receives coaching/mentoring on a consistent basis.
Requirements
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
- Preferred: Coursework in child development.
- Required: Experience working with infants and toddlers.
Qualifications
- Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Ability to relate well to young children and is sensitive to children's needs.
Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate.
- Ability to handle equipment.
- Ability to remain stationary and ascend/descend ladders/stairs.
- Ability to move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to detect items in close proximity as well as far away; discern between colors; detect objects in peripheral space of self; discern items in detail; and to have good depth perception.
