About the Role

Under general supervision, provides the restaurant and kitchen with clean and sanitary ware. You belong at Hotel Clio, part of Sage Hospitality Group, where we seek innovative leaders with a disruptive spirit and a passion for hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Gather all dirty dishware from tubs brought to the dish room, rinse, and stack in dishracks, clearing dishes of leftovers and trash to prepare for automated washing.
• Load full dishracks on belt and ensure correct placement according to machine operation instructions.
• Operate automatic dishwashing machine using controls as instructed.
• Load dishwashing solutions into automatic dispensers and regulate detergent and chemical output by monitoring and adjusting controls.
• Unload clean dishes from racks after processing, inspect for cleanliness, and stack in specified carts and shelves for easy use by restaurant and kitchen staff.
• Manually scrub pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment that cannot be washed automatically, using detergents, scourers, and special solutions as required. Inspect for cleanliness, manually dry with hand towels, and store in correct places.
• Manually polish all silver, stainless steel, and pewter used in food service to present clean and attractive equipment to diners.
• Maintain automatic dishwashing equipment in good working order according to manufacturers' instructions to prolong equipment life, prevent breakdowns, and meet health compliance regulations.
• Keep the dish room clean and orderly at all times by sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, wiping counters and equipment, and organizing shelves to maintain a sanitary workstation and meet health compliance requirements.
• Mop kitchen floors as requested and at the end of each shift; clean all kitchen work surfaces as scheduled by management, including walls, ceilings, hoods, vents, and ovens.
• Gather all trash cans from kitchen work areas at the end of each shift and empty into the outside trash compactor.
• Sweep loading dock and kitchen entrance areas, clearing litter and debris to trash bins for employee and purveyor safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of dishwashing.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to see minute objects at arm’s length and read meters and controls.
• Must be able to bend, squat, crouch, crawl, reach, and retrieve items from above head.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs, including serving trays, carts, tables, chairs, and small equipment up to 75% of the time.
• Must be able to travel up to 300 feet and stand regularly throughout the shift.
• Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively.
• Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and pay attention to sound and sight details in crowded and noisy situations.
• Must handle china, glassware, and fragile equipment with care to minimize breakage.

Environment

Prolonged standing, walking, lifting, and carrying throughout the entire shift in a 95% indoor environment. Exposure to freezer temperatures as low as -10 degrees.

Pay

USD $19.50 - USD $19.50 per hour.
