Part-time Staff-Service Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and dependable part-time chef to join our college Food Service team. This position assists with the preparation and service of high-quality meals for students, faculty, staff, guests, and catered events.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook entrees, vegetables, and other menu items according to established recipes and standards.
• Prepare food for college catering functions, meetings, banquets, and special events.
• Ensure food is prepared on time and presented attractively.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, temperature-control, and food-safety procedures.
• Work cooperatively with cooks, servers, student employees, and Food Service management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 to 2 years of related experience.
• ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
• Previous professional cooking or culinary experience preferred.
• Ability to prepare food from scratch and follow standardized recipes.
• Knowledge of proper food-safety and sanitation practices.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
