About the Role
The PT Specialist III, Admissions plays a key role in assisting students with completing all steps of the admissions process to ensure they are "college ready" and set up for success. This position serves as an important first point of contact, helping students feel welcomed, informed, and oriented to campus.
Responsibilities
- Assist students with completing the admissions application and new student checklist, including vaccination requirement/waiver forms, placement testing, new student orientation, and connecting students with academic advisors.
- Evaluate transcripts and ACT/SAT scores for college readiness and explain the meaning of college readiness to students.
- Provide detailed advice to students about degree/program types and options offered, as well as campus services available.
- Coordinate outreach programs and events both on and off campus, such as Preview Days, Campus Tours, and Enrollment Week Campaigns.
- Support the New Student Orientation program, including providing extra assistance when needed.
- Determine residency requirements as needed.
- Assist with phone calls, emails, and LiveChat communications.
- Manage testing vouchers and testing processes.
- Perform other reasonable, related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Physical Abilities
The work is primarily sedentary, involving sitting comfortably for extended periods. Occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying light items (e.g., papers, books), or driving may be required. No special physical demands are associated with this role.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
- Equipment used includes a PC workstation (LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment), calculator, phone, and general office equipment.
- Regular interaction with internal and external contacts is required to carry out job functions.
Pay
Hourly pay rate is $15.92.
