Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small-group instructional support as directed by teachers.
- Absorb and reinforce academic concepts and learning strategies introduced by the teacher.
- Support students in developing organizational, study, and self-advocacy skills.
- Encourage student independence while providing appropriate assistance.
- Implement behavior support plans and classroom management strategies as directed.
- Aid in the development of positive social skills and appropriate peer interactions.
- Support students in managing emotions, transitions, and daily routines.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
- Prepare instructional materials, visual aids, and classroom resources.
- Aid in accommodations and modifications as outlined in student learning plans.
- Support classroom activities, assessments, projects, and use of educational technology.
- Supervise students during classroom transitions, lunch, recess, field trips, and other school activities as assigned.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and support personnel to meet student needs.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and educational records.
- Provide observations and feedback to classroom teacher(s) regarding student progress and needs.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree, paraprofessional certification, or coursework in education, child development, special education, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children, particularly students with diverse learning needs, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Understanding of child development and learning differences.
- Ability to work effectively with students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Patience, flexibility, compassion, and a collaborative spirit.
- Basic proficiency with educational technology and office software.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move throughout the school environment.
- Ability to supervise students in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, and other school settings.
- Ability to assist students and carry materials as needed.
- Ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, bending, and sitting for extended periods.
Working Conditions
- School-based environment with regular interaction with students, faculty, staff, and parents.
- Exposure to typical classroom and playground conditions.
- Work schedule follows the school calendar and assigned hours.

- An employee’s pay within the hourly range will be based on many factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
