Part-Time Social Worker

About the role

The social worker is responsible for delivering complex, professional social services to patients and their families from admission to discharge. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality social services throughout the patient care process
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and families
• Participate in discharge planning and support services

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Degree in social work (level depends on licensure requirements)
• Experience Preferred: 1 year as Healthcare/Medical Social Worker
• Preferred: 1 year as Healthcare/Medical Case Manager
• Preferred: 2 years of counseling experience

Certifications & Licensure

• Must be a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker (LBSW) with at least two years of social work experience
• Current licensure in Texas required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days
• SAFE Level III Training Course completion required within six months
