Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the Campus Recreation social media calendar to ensure timely and accurate posting of facility updates, events, and programs.
- Develop engaging digital content, including video editing, graphic design, and creative storytelling, to build engagement among target and broad audiences.
- Research and implement emerging trends and engagement strategies to enhance social media presence.
- Maintain a consistent tone and voice across all platforms, adhering to University brand guidelines and evolving best practices.
- Schedule and post content across platforms, ensuring alignment with department objectives.
- Attend Campus Recreation events and programs to capture real-time content, including video, photography, and social stories.
- Actively monitor and engage with social media followers, responding to comments and messages as needed.
- Serve as a brand ambassador for Penn State Campus Recreation, both online and in-person.
- Work closely with the social media team to align messaging and strategies.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors, maintaining open dialogue on project progress and social media performance.
- Display professionalism in all interactions, modeling positive rapport with patrons and colleagues.
- As a decisive problem-solver in the absence of professional staff, ensure smooth operations.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience (academic or non-academic) in social media management, communications, or business operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interact positively with patrons and employees.
- Proficiency in Adobe Express and familiarity with content creation tools, social media analytics, and engagement strategies.
Work Environment & Requirements
- Work will take place on the University Park campus.
- Candidates must successfully complete a background check.
- This role requires flexibility to accommodate a variable schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and University breaks.
