Part Time Security Officer

Part-time role within the Public Safety department.

About the role

Performs walking and mobile patrol functions. Assists motorists with vehicle lock-outs and jumpstarts. Completes building openings and closings. Transports financial transactions as required from various departments. Completes bank run to local banks. Conducts parking and traffic enforcement and issues summonses when warranted. Completes incident and accident reports and submits them to the Director of Public Safety. Provides vehicle escorts to the inner campus. Assists local, state and federal agencies with criminal, motor vehicle and other applicable enforcement actions. Conducts cardiopulmonary resuscitation and AED lifesaving applications until the arrival of emergency units. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Public Safety.

• Administer CPR and AED until emergency units arrive
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• At least 2 years of security, military, or closely related experience involving security and/or safety

Skills

• Physically capable of performing all duties described
• Willing to share departmental overtime equally
• Good reading, writing, communication, and basic computer skills
• Strong customer relation skills
• Willingness to work any of the three shifts
• Ability to respond to unanticipated campus emergencies when off duty

Schedule

Part-time position requiring up to 24.5 hours per week. Security officers are scheduled for various shifts covering 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends, midnights, and holidays.

Pay

$19.72 per hour.
