About the role

The Associate I, Retail Sales Floor is responsible for ensuring the sales floor area is well stocked with product in an organized and presentable fashion. The Associate will interact with customers, providing assistance and excellent customer service. The role also involves maintaining overall cleanliness of the sales floor and restrooms.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed minimum productivity standards and KPIs for assigned duties.
  • Act as an ambassador of pricing according to Goodwill standards of quality and value (good, better, best), including researching item values online or using company tools.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor by regularly cleaning shelves and racks, picking up items, putting away products from racks, carts, or baskets, and handling returned or unwanted items.
  • Ensure sales floor areas are properly merchandised (categorized, colorized, sized), flex product to improve customer shopping experience, and increase sales.
  • Assist production by communicating targeted needs for the floor to the manager on duty.
  • Provide excellent customer service by adhering to the 10-foot rule (smile, greet, make eye contact) and answer product questions as needed.
  • Rotate or pull old or unsold products from the sales floor to refresh product selection.
  • Identify and pull E-Commerce products from the sales floor.
  • Follow all retail center policies and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Cross-train in other departments or areas and act as a backup when required.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • One year of retail experience is preferred; prior visual merchandising experience is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and ability to make decisions.
  • Ability to use basic technologies to follow company standards.
  • Ability to assess quality and value of products, including color vision and pricing judgment.
  • Effective communication with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and occasional overtime.
