Part-Time RN - Weekend Med/Surg

Role Overview As a member of an interdisciplinary team, the registered nurse applies professional nursing knowledge and skills to deliver and manage patient care through the nursing process. Key Responsibilities Assess patient status via interview, observation, and physical evaluation.Develop individualized care plans collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare team.Implement interventions to achieve patient outcomes and evaluate progress continuously.Adjust care plans based on patient response and changing conditions.Complete accurate documentation, including charts and reports.Ensure professional accountability by seeking resources and ongoing self-development.Maintain technical proficiency with equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform bedside lab testing.Share clinical knowledge through informal teaching and promote team development.Ensure patient and staff safety, including proper use of lift equipment and specimen collection.Analyze clinical situations, utilize resources, and collaborate with team members to resolve problems.Prioritize tasks based on patient needs and coordinate care from admission to discharge.Communicate effectively, provide goal-focused shift reports, and advocate for patients.Educate patients considering their cultural, age, and developmental factors.Adhere to standards of care, evidence-based practices, and safety goals.Participate in quality improvement initiatives, unit projects, and customer satisfaction efforts.Serve on unit councils, identify practice issues, and implement practice improvements. Qualifications & Skills Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.College diploma in nursing.Strong assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and adapt to changing patient conditions.
