Part Time Retail Sales Cashier Associate - Lake Arbor Store

About the role

The Associate I, Retail Sales Cashier position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, verifying till counts, operating a point-of-sale (POS) cash register system, engaging in the roundup initiative, assisting customers, maintaining a clean sales floor, and following all retail center policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Verification of till counts
• Provides accurate cashier transactions
• Maintains a balanced cash drawer using a computer-based point-of-sale system
• Engages customers in the roundup initiative
• Provides excellent customer service upholding company values
• Assists customers with questions, concerns, and purchases
• Completes opening and closing procedures
• Maintains a clean and organized sales floor
• Initiates customer delight/power hour calls over intercom
• Follows all retail center policies and procedures
• Follows all safety processes and procedures
• Cross-trains in other departments or areas as required

Requirements

• A High School diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year of retail sales or cash handling experience
• Able to use basic math such as adding, subtracting, and multiplication
• Able to effectively communicate with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers
• Able to operate a computer-based cash register and credit card machine
• Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to eight (8) hours per day
• Able to see color for accurate transactions
• Able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary

• Able to be accurate with numbers and general calculations
• Able to understand the value of different coins and US currency
• Able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers
• Able to operate a computer-based cash register and credit card machine
