Part-Time Recreation Coordinator

Qualifications

Essential Functions

• Affords assistance in developing, coordinating, scheduling, implementing, and evaluating recreational programs, activities, special events, and facilities including adult athletics, summer camps, educational programs, and special events.
• Enforces rules and regulations, facility rules, etc. for use of the facility.
• Prepares program materials, equipment, first aid kits, and other necessary items.
• Prepare attendance and other necessary reports.
• Performs related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED;
• Experience coordinating recreational activities;
• Experience supervising or working with children.
• Possession of First Aid and CPR Certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina.

Physical Requirements

• This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force;
• Work regularly requires speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and reaching with hands and arms;
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling;
• Pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions;
• Close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus, depth perception, color perception and peripheral vision;
• Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word;
• Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels;
• Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities;
• Work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions;
• Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
