About the Role

Provide professional nursing care in a mental health/psychiatric setting, developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients across various age groups, including pediatric to geriatric. Ensure adherence to policies, safety, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, observe, and document patients' mental, emotional, and physical health status, including crisis intervention.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and coordinate patient care activities.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment regimens and provide emotional support.
  • Facilitate communication among healthcare providers, patients, and families.
  • Follow departmental policies, participate in quality improvement, and ensure safety protocols.
  • Engage in professional development, participate in orientation, and precept new staff.
  • Assist with emergency measures and promote patient safety, reporting concerns proactively.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; RN licensure in NM or reciprocal agreement.
  • CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days.
  • Experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish or Native languages advantageous.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical work and work in hazardous environments with PPE.
