About the Role
Provide professional nursing care in a mental health/psychiatric setting, developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients across various age groups, including pediatric to geriatric. Ensure adherence to policies, safety, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Assess, observe, and document patients' mental, emotional, and physical health status, including crisis intervention.
- Administer medications, treatments, and coordinate patient care activities.
- Educate patients and families on treatment regimens and provide emotional support.
- Facilitate communication among healthcare providers, patients, and families.
- Follow departmental policies, participate in quality improvement, and ensure safety protocols.
- Engage in professional development, participate in orientation, and precept new staff.
- Assist with emergency measures and promote patient safety, reporting concerns proactively.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; RN licensure in NM or reciprocal agreement.
- CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days.
- Experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish or Native languages advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy physical work and work in hazardous environments with PPE.
