Part Time Program Manager - Lindenhurst Union Free School District

About the role
You’ll drive the mission by ensuring safety and joy standards are met, supporting operational efficiency, and fostering respectful relationships among staff. This includes outlining attendance protocols, behavior policies, safety procedures, and ensuring program tasks are completed effectively. You will also engage meaningfully with families, client partners, peers, and children to build effective communication and trust.
Responsibilities
- Exhibit role model qualities to support a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities for a team of staff members.
- Support operational efficiency by keeping site documents and licensing standards up to date.
- Outline attendance protocols, behavior policies, safety procedures, and ensure program tasks are completed effectively.
- Provide continual coaching and address challenges promptly to maintain team cohesion and productivity.
- Consistently support and report on safety protocols to ensure the well-being of all participants.
- Engage meaningfully with families, client partners, peers, and children to build effective communication and relationships.
- Respond promptly to emails, text messages, and inquiries during program hours.
- Communicate and collaborate regularly with the Area Manager to support outlined program goals.
- Maintain accurate records for student check-ins and check-outs, ensuring “name to face” attendance procedures are followed.
- Implement daily activities, fitness fun, and curriculum while providing a safe and engaging environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED completed.
- Experience working with children and knowledge of unique and special needs.
- Coursework or training in child development and/or related field.
- Strong communication skills (oral, written, and visual) with adults and children.
- Ability to model professional standards when dealing with students, parents, staff, and community.
- Familiarity with Google technology software or willingness to learn.
- 18+ years of age.
- Identify and submit proof of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination.
- Cleared tuberculosis test.
- First Aid and CPR certification (in-person).
- Ability to meet New York State-specific requirements.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have experience with competing priorities and delivering quality service to all stakeholders. Additional qualifications include:
- Associate's degree in child development, elementary education, physical education, recreation, or a related field AND 2 years of direct experience working with children under the age of 13, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
- OR New York State Children's Program Administrator Credential AND 2 years of direct experience working with children under the age of 13, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
- OR School Age Child Care Credential AND 2 years of direct experience working with children under the age of 13, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
- OR 2 years of college with 18 credits in the above-listed areas of concentration, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity AND 2 years of direct experience working with children under the age of 13.
Pay
$21.00 - $26.00 per hour (based on education and experience).
Schedule
- Monday-Friday, split shift:
- Morning shift: 6:30 AM–9:00 AM
- Afternoon shift: 1:30 PM–5:00 PM
- Up to 30 hours per week.
