Part-Time Preschool Speech Language Pathologist
About the role
The speech language pathologist works with preschool students individually or in small groups to provide direct instruction, conduct progress monitoring, and complete speech language evaluations. They also participate in the comprehensive evaluation, review, and reevaluation process, develop student IEP's, produce accurate progress reports based on clear data, consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and others concerning the needs of students, monitor student progress, and make informed, timely educational decisions. Additionally, they establish a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of students, develop speech and language skills to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students, collaborate with related services staff, and follow all applicable safety rules, procedures, and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Works with preschool students individually or in small groups to provide direct instruction, conduct progress monitoring, and complete speech language evaluations.
- Participates in the comprehensive evaluation, review, and reevaluation process.

- Collaborates with related services staff and carries out services as ordered.
- Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures, and regulations governing the proper manner of working with students in an evaluation situation.
Requirements
A successful candidate must hold certification as a speech language pathologist. The individual should understand the special education process, possess strong writing and grammar skills, and be able to use word processing.

- Ability to establish a rapport with students in order to provide instruction and progress monitoring.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, and others contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor and IEP team members.
- Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
