About the role

South Preschool is seeking a Part-Time Preschool Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under the direction of the Special Education Teacher. This role plays a vital part in the education and development of young learners in the community.

Schedule

11 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:50 AM – 11:35 AM.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students and small groups to reinforce learning activities (e.g., one-on-one help, small-group direction, positive interaction).
• Assist in observing and recording behavior patterns; implement techniques to reinforce acceptable behavior.
• Support certified educators with the presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises.
• Assist with physical and medical needs, including operating adaptive equipment (e.g., wheelchairs).
• Help students develop self-care skills, such as toilet training, bathing, personal cleanliness, diapering, feeding, and other self-help skills as needed.
• Participate in developing, maintaining, and carrying out classroom management systems.
• Guide students in working and interacting harmoniously with peers.
• Supervise students in all areas of the school.
• Lift and support students, change protective clothing, and implement behavior management plans.
• Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance and job performance.
