Part Time Patient Service Representative

About the role

We are seeking a Part-Time Patient Service Representative to join our team in Marquette, MI. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to make an impact every day.

Schedule

Part-time, rotating weeks:

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 7:30 am – 5:00 pm
• Friday: 7:30 am – 1:00 pm

Responsibilities

• Performs opening and closing clinic duties
• Greets patients, checks them in for appointments, and verifies insurance
• Scans documents into the electronic health record
• Maintains tidiness of the waiting area and reception counter throughout the day
• Monitors schedules for added, canceled, and no-show appointments
• Schedules follow-up appointments as needed
• Responds to designated tasks in the electronic health record
• Orders clinic office supplies
• Sells and tracks cosmetic products
• Distributes mail
• Prepares for next-day scheduled appointments

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• 1+ years of recent medical office experience or in a similar capacity is preferred
• Proficient in basic computer functions
• Ability to learn new software quickly
• Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to operate standard office equipment
• Typing speed of at least 40 wpm is preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
• Ability to respond positively to constructive feedback and direction from supervisors
• Professional appearance and manner at all times
• Friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor; compassionate and caring in dealing with others
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
