Part-Time Parks Specialist - Waterer

About the role

The Westerville Parks Maintenance Division is seeking one applicant for a seasonal position. This position involves watering duties for park maintenance and works outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with citizens, vendors, city and departmental staff.
• Operate and maneuver a non-CDL truck with skid-mounted sprayer to perform daily watering duties.
• Problem solve, complete equipment inspections, and provide basic maintenance.
• Learns pump operations to regulate flow and pressure for varying circumstances.
• Responds to absentee coverage and fulfills staffing needs.
• Maintains a safe working environment by adhering to standard safety practices.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent at the time of appointment.
• Demonstrated self-motivation and independence.
• Valid Ohio Driver’s license at the time of appointment.

Benefits

Retirement benefits through the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System with a City contribution of 14% and an employee contribution of 10%. Eligible for personal leave based on hours worked.
