Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• PA Paraeducator Credential of Competency Certificate (or willing to complete free online program within 6 months of hire)
• Minimum of 48 post-secondary credits in ANY content area
• Associate degree or higher in ANY content area
• Willing to complete 20 hours of staff development each school year
• As required by the PA Department of Education: Provide evidence of 20 hours of staff development activities related to position each school year
• Certification Required: Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Safe Crisis Management Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (SCM) or Crisis Prevention Training and Safe Crisis Management (QBS)

Essential Physical Requirements

• The ability to lift and/or assist in lifting pupils of ages ranging from pre-school to twenty-one and any assistive appliances
• The ability to physically restrain students in emotional stress by using the Crisis Prevention Institute Training or Safe Crisis Management method for which training will be provided
