Part-Time Operations Coordinator - Food and Wellness Network

Responsibilities

  • Food Distribution
    • Manages on-site operations for FAWN pantries
    • Liaises with site contacts when relevant
    • Orders food weekly, accepts deliveries, and assists with restocking supplies
    • Breaks down large volume purchases
    • Packs bags for other Turning Points programs and partners
    • Affords calls to FAWN inquiring about the program
    • Collects intake data, including name, number of family members, need, etc.
    • Schedules pantry appointments
    • Greets clients during distribution hours and ensures that all clients have completed intake prior to receiving pantry resources
    • Collects and records data for FAWN (e.g., food purchased; donations received; households served; food distributed; etc.)
    • Coordinates logistics for pop-up pantries when relevant
  • Volunteers
    • Recruits a volunteer base to support pantry operations
    • Unloads and stores food donations, stocks pantry shelves, and staffs the pantry during open hours
    • Maintains volunteers at FAWN pantries, including facilitating meetings and trainings
    • Orients new volunteers to all TPFC and FAWN pantry policies, procedures, and expectations
  • Program Support
    • Develops social media content and communication material for FAWN
    • Supports partnerships with institutions, organizations, and programs that can provide resources and tools to FAWN clients based on their needs
    • Supports the Case Management program where needed
  • Administrative
    • Attends mandatory training programs provided by Philabundance
    • Reports any problems/risk management issues to the FAWN Program Director
    • Participates in staff meetings, team meetings, and supervisory meetings as scheduled
    • Participates in the quality improvement process and training activities
    • Maintains coherence with Turning Points for Children’s vision, mission, and goals
    • Maintains the highest ethical standards in organizational operations and individual professional conduct
    • Performs other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor or executive management

    Qualifications

    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
    • Good organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Comfortable with conflict management and having difficult conversations
    • Maintains professionalism by establishing relationships that are ethical, client-oriented, and not self-interested
    • Skills in typing, basic computer operations, and Microsoft applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
    • Comfortable working with numbers
    • Completes paperwork and other responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner; maintains an organized work environment
    • Able to improve processes and systems while facilitating input and suggestions from others; finds the best approach to get the work done
    • Culturally sensitive to the needs and diversities of multicultural communities
    • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position (managing food loading, storing food, and preparing food bags)
