Part-Time Neurocritical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

About the role

The Advanced Practice Providers are part of the nationally recognized Ayer Neuroscience Institute on a multidisciplinary team that plans and delivers care for critical neuroscience patients with a focus on those with neurological and neurosurgical diseases and related disorders. Our critical patient population includes complex strokes, skull base surgery, status epilepticus, tumor resections, spinal cord injury, DBS, and other complex diseases.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine physical examinations
• Formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients
• Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, including referrals to other health team members or specialists
• Provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice as designated by protocols
• Identify problems outside of their scope of practice and refer appropriately to physician

Requirements

• Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
• Training: Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
• Experience: 1+ years in a critical care/neurocritical care setting

Pay

• Up to $20,000 in shift differentials on top of base pay

• Full-time (three 13-hour shifts)
• Rotating schedule
