Part Time Merchandiser - Rockford, IL

About the role

American Greetings is seeking a Merchandiser to help showcase our celebrations products, including greeting cards, gift wrap accessories, party goods, and more. This role involves independent work across various retail locations to ensure product displays and inventory levels are maintained.

Responsibilities

• Service stores on your assigned route, including merchandising and organizing product orders
• Display product within greeting card departments and other retail locations
• Maintain an organized backroom area
• Other inventory tasks as needed
• Communicate with management about service or schedule issues
• Utilize effective time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced retail environment
• Partner and build relationships with retail store associates and management during daytime business hours
• Occasionally assist with store resets, including minor fixture work, product assembly, relocation, or removal as requested
• Review and plan your weekly service schedule and workload using a company-issued tablet
• Work independently and as part of a team

Requirements

• No prior experience necessary. Training will be provided
• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Access to reliable transportation and internet
• Technological competency to use a company-issued tablet for training and daily activities
• Ability to meet scheduling needs, including occasional weekends and major holiday periods

Qualifications

• Physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 40 pounds throughout the workday
• Ability to use a stepstool as needed

Pay

• Starting pay is $15.30 per hour
• Increases to $16.20 after 6 months and $17.00 after 1 year of continued employment

Schedule

• The weekly average hours are 7 hours per week
• The weekly hours may increase to an average of 14 hours per week around holidays
• Available during daytime hours, particularly Monday mornings, due to store needs and service
