Verity is hiring for a Full-Time Member Consultant I at their Beacon Hill/Rainier Branch. Founded in 1933, Verity is a local member-owned credit union and part of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV).
How You Can Make a Difference
The Member Consultant I enhances members' lives by creating trusted relationships. They handle in-branch transactions, member service requests, open secondary deposit accounts and non-real estate consumer loans, educate members on account transactions, and cross-sell additional products and services.
Essential Job Functions
- Adhere to the Verity Experience Process in every member interaction
- Listen to the member and understand their goals, identifying ways to cross-sell Verity's products and services
- Capture relevant information and input it into the CRM system
- Value members' time by accurately and efficiently processing transactions including wires, payments, and IRA distributions
- Resolve member issues; emotionally and operationally, while adhering to Verity's policies and procedures
- Originate, process, and fund consumer loans including credit cards, lines of credit, and auto loans
- Originate deposit accounts including checking, savings, money market, and certificates of deposit
- Collaborate with your team to achieve sales, service, and community goals
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a financial institution
- Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented and good organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform minor mathematical calculations and collect and analyze data
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Ability to present a positive and professional image to all employees and members
- Ability to organize and prioritize to meet work deadlines
- Problem-solving skills
Physical Considerations
- Effectively communicate with diverse staff, members, and vendors
- Sitting or standing for long periods of time
- Working on computers for a long period of time in an office environment
- Ability to travel within an assigned market
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
Pay and Benefits
Base Pay: Salary range of $23.67 (minimum) to $35.51 (maximum), with a midpoint of $29.59. Starting pay is offered based upon an applicant’s experience and education relevant to the position.
Commission / Incentive Pay: Monthly incentives qualify this position.
Paid Time Off: 11 paid holidays per year, plus PTO starting to accrue immediately at a rate of 20 days per year.
