About the Role

A Medical Assistant at our healthcare facility serves underserved populations by providing professional nursing care and supporting patient services under supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations, record histories and vital signs.
  • Perform blood draws, specimen handling, injections, and apply casts or dressings.
  • Assist with treatments, minor surgeries, and scheduling tests or referrals.
  • Maintain supplies, equipment, and patient records accurately.
  • Coordinate patient flow, communicate departmental policies, and support clinic operations.
  • Participate in meetings, professional development, and adhere to policies, confidentiality, and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; medical certification/training preferred (e.g., CNA, EMT, MA, Phlebotomy).
  • Minimum one year of customer service or medical office experience; experience with Native American communities is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical procedures, equipment, safety protocols, and record-keeping.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to react calmly in emergencies, and maintain quality standards.
  • CPR certification preferred.
