About the role

Support patient care and clinic operations under physician supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain patient flow and document medical histories, vital signs, and update medication lists.
  • Prepare and review patient charts in EMR, ensuring all diagnostic and medical records are complete.
  • Assist with medication refills, pre-authorizations, and manage medication samples.
  • Prepare exam rooms, order supplies, and ensure a clean environment.
  • Gather medical information from patients, respond to communications, and manage work queues in EMR.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment such as EKGs and perform clinical tasks like phlebotomy and cast removal.
  • Schedule appointments, answer calls, and handle pre-certifications for procedures and prescriptions.
  • Follow safety protocols, maintain confidentiality, and support quality patient care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or certified/registered Medical Assistant preferred.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience, with clinical skills like phlebotomy and EKGs highly preferred.
  • Proficient in computer systems, EMR, and scheduling software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certified/Registered Medical Assistant preferred; BLS certification required.
  • Willingness to travel to other offices as needed.
