About the role
The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support in a pediatric practice, ensuring high-quality patient care and a positive experience for children and families.
Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare pediatric patients for examinations, ensuring comfort and reassurance.
- Record vital signs, medical histories, and assist during examinations and procedures.
- Administer medications and immunizations following safety protocols.
- Manage patient flow through scheduling, updating records, and coordinating follow-up care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with healthcare standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Some Medical Assistant experience or completion of an accredited program (or related healthcare training).
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) and BLS certification.
- Strong organizational, communication, and clinical skills.
- Preferred experience with pediatric EHR systems, additional certifications like PALS, and bilingual abilities.
