Part-Time Medical Assistant

About the role

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support in a pediatric practice, ensuring high-quality patient care and a positive experience for children and families.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare pediatric patients for examinations, ensuring comfort and reassurance.
• Record vital signs, medical histories, and assist during examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications and immunizations following safety protocols.
• Manage patient flow through scheduling, updating records, and coordinating follow-up care.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with healthcare standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Some Medical Assistant experience or completion of an accredited program (or related healthcare training).
• Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) and BLS certification.
• Strong organizational, communication, and clinical skills.
• Preferred experience with pediatric EHR systems, additional certifications like PALS, and bilingual abilities.
