Key Responsibilities
- Inspect engines, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Diagnose mechanical problems using testing tools and software
- Repair or replace defective parts such as engines, brakes, and transmissions
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes and lubrication
- Maintain maintenance records and reports
- Follow safety procedures and regulations
- Test equipment post-repair for proper performance
Required Skills
- Strong mechanical and technical knowledge
- Problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Familiarity with hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems
- Ability to operate diagnostic and repair tools
- Attention to detail and safety consciousness
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Technical training or certification in diesel or heavy equipment repair (preferred)
- Apprenticeship or on-the-job training
- Some roles may require a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
