Part-Time Maintenance Specialist

About the role

The Maintenance Specialist at NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) is responsible for making minor repairs to the interior and exterior of buildings and facilities, maintaining furniture and equipment, and employing basic skills in plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical.

Responsibilities

• Makes minor repairs to the interior/exterior of buildings and facilities.
• Maintains furniture and equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• The formal equivalent of a high school diploma.
• Experience with building maintenance.
• Experience in repair and/or maintenance of equipment.
• At least 2 years of building maintenance experience.
• Valid drivers license.

• Knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.

Skills

• The position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials and objects weighing up to 100 pounds, or heavier weights with the use of proper equipment.
• Must be able to work during different weather climates; to include hot/cold weather, rain, etc.
• Read and comprehend printed materials i.e. schematics, layouts, etc.
• Operate varied hand and power tools and equipment.
• Strength, stamina, and mobility to perform light to medium physical work.
