About the role

The Part-Time Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the overall upkeep of the hotel’s physical facilities, mechanical systems, and equipment to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Complete minor repairs on guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, including painting, carpentry, and basic plumbing.
• Respond promptly to guest service requests and resolve maintenance issues with minimal disruption.
• Ensure all tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean, safe, and organized.
• Maintain pool, fitness, and laundry equipment in compliance with safety and health regulations.
• Assist in maintaining fire safety systems, alarms, and emergency procedures.
• Track and log completed maintenance tasks, parts used, and report any recurring issues to management.
• Work collaboratively with hotel team members to support overall guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification a plus.
• Prior maintenance experience in hotels, commercial buildings, or facilities preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform tasks requiring standing/walking for extended periods.
• Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, or holidays if needed.

Schedule & Compensation

• Schedule: Part-time (15–25 hours per week; flexible shifts)
• Compensation: Competitive hourly pay, commensurate with experience (typically $15–$17/hour in the Biloxi market).
