Part Time - Licensed Practical Nurse

About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides resident care, medication administration, and ongoing assessment of residents' conditions in compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies. Responsibilities include assisting with care plans, supervising staff in the absence of senior nurses, and ensuring residents' needs are met with compassion and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care, including personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADL).
• Administer medications and monitor residents' health status.
• Assist with the development and implementation of care plans.
• Supervise ancillary staff in the absence of senior nurses.
• Respond to emergencies and provide necessary care.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including physician orders and shift reports.
• Ensure adherence to medication protocols and reorder medications as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols and comply with facility policies and guidelines.
• Uphold residents' rights and provide care with compassion and dignity.

Requirements

• Valid LPN license issued by the State School of Nursing.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work well with peers and demonstrate compassion.
• Must meet health requirements, including annual TB testing and COVID-19 vaccination (accommodations available for medical or religious reasons).
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Physical ability to move and assist residents.
• Ability to handle emotional and mental stress.
